In 1997 Finnair took over Finnaviation and Kar-Air and received its official name of Finnair Oyj on 25th September 1997. Finnair became one of the members of the famous Oneworld Alliance in 1999. By engaging 9,447 employees on March 2007, Finnair at present has become the fifth oldest international airline.

Apart from operating domestic Finnish flights, Finnair serves various destinations in Asia, Europe and North America.
