UAL Corporation claims to be the oldest airline company in the United States offering Varney Airlines air mail service. The date “6th April” is very much significant for United Airlines as it is the day on which United Airlines was inaugurated and also the day when this airline company started real airline operations following schedules in various fixed routes. In 1927 United Airlines was bought by William Boeing, the aircraft pioneer and the name of the United Airlines was changed to United Aircraft –Transport Corp. in 1929.
